This visual documentation captures the spatial and cultural atmosphere of Lokame Tharavadu, a landmark contemporary art exhibition curated by Bose Krishnamachari. Set across repurposed heritage buildings in Alappuzha, the show foregrounded over 260 Malayali artists from around the world.

Rather than treating the exhibition as a neutral white-cube display, the photographic series reveals how artworks engaged with the layered textures of the site—wooden rafters, limewashed walls, tile roofing, and the rhythms of daylight. The documentation also centers spectatorship—the gestures, stances, and bodily orientations of visitors as they navigate, confront, or merge with the works.

Framing exhibition-making as spatial practice, the series treats each gallery moment as a layered mise-en-scène, where architectural memory, artistic expression, and vernacular encounters intersect in lived, contingent formations.
